Composites offer a revolutionary new approach to stairways in commercial and residential buildings. Aeromarine Industries operations manager Simon Robb says the stairs are pre-moulded, and can be precarpeted with all fittings such as non-trip rails and non-skid patterns for critical areas. Easily erected in a few hours, they are light, non-corrodible and strong and offer a higher degree of flex over steel and concrete alternatives. He says his company also manufactures seating for stands and arenas which because of their non-corrodibility are ideal for exterior applications. Surfaces can also be toughened to resist vandal attacks and a special gel-coat is available to which spray paint will not adhere permanently.
